Chrome Browser Settings for Slidebank

UPDATE 2020 - Slidebank no longer uses Flash so these actions are no longer needed.

For best performance of Slidebank, we recommend using Google Chrome.

As users will know, Slidebank currently uses Flash elements. Google have announced that at the end of 2020, it will no longer support Flash. We have a non-Flash version of Slidebank coming out for general release well ahead of that schedule (more on that here). In the meantime, there are some steps you can take to ensure things continue to run smoothly when using Chrome.

Whilst Flash is still supported, the browser is starting to require a more manual ‘opt-in’ setting to enable Flash. If you find all is not working as expected, follow these steps and Slidebank will work as normal.

That’s it, you’re done! You might be asked to confirm that Flash is OK the next time you log in, which will put Slidebank on your ‘approved’ list for subsequent visits.

Four Ways to Think About Organizing Your Presentation Content

Four Ways to Think About Organizing Your Presentation Content

Slidebank is such a flexible tool, it really puts you in control of how your PowerPoint content is viewed, used and consumed by your colleagues.

Sometimes, however, this flexibility can seem a bit of a minefield when it comes to organizing not just your PowerPoint files, but your users' abilities profiles too.

So here are four simple ways to think about your presentation content, which may make the decision-making process easier....

New Slidebank: latest feature updates

New Slidebank: latest feature updates

As well as rebranding (you can read about that here), we have recently launched a new version of the Slidebank interface.

This is cleaner, crisper and more responsive, giving your content the opportunity to shine.

We've also enhanced existing features and added new ones, including support for Word and Excel files, and the ability to make changes to existing Virtual presentations.

Say Hello to a new Slidebank

Say Hello to a new Slidebank

Over the past year, we've been working away behind the scenes on revamping our brand.

Partnering with the fabulously talented Confederation Studio in London, we've created a new visual identity to bring the Slidebank brand back in line with who we really are.

Take a look at our new brand identity, interface, and reinvigorated mission. We're very excited about what the future holds!

Understanding Departments and Roles in Slidebank

Slidebank's structure can be set up to echo your company's hierarchy. However, to keep things simple, we operate with 3 layers:

  1. Departments (e.g. Marketing)
  2. Roles (e.g. Marketing Manager)
  3. Users (e.g. Jane Smith)

Each user must belong to a Role and a Department. It's very easy to set these up.

Managing Account Usage and User Churn

With Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, as within organizations, it's natural to have a certain degree of user churn. The extent of this will largely depend on a) the size of your company b) the fluidity of the industry and frequency with which people move roles and departments, and c) the nature of your account use.

Adding New Users

Adding New Users

Adding new users to your Slidebank account is easy. You can either add them as you go, one by one, or we can help you with a batch upload. The latter can certainly be the best option when you're just starting off with your account, especially if you have hundreds of users.

Just follow these instructions...

New season, new start

New season, new start

It was with a slight twinge of shame that we recognized we'd maybe 'let ourselves go' slightly in the public face side of things.

We'd been so busy talking to our customers and working heads down to deliver a premium presentation management service that we managed to overlook the fact that we had cornflakes in our hair and odd socks on our feet. Metaphorically speaking!

We're pleased to confirm Slidebank.com has NEVER been vulnerable to Heartbleed

Although Slidebank.com is entirely Web based, our software subscription service allows us to encrypt sensitive presentations in transit in a secure and private way. That is to say, we have only ever used 'best of breed' SSL security certificates, none of which are affected.

Needless to say, we have taken the necessary precautionary measures to confirm that none of our Web servers were affected. We are therefore confident that your Slidebank.com service is not, and nor has it ever been, subject to any vulnerability associated with Heartbleed.
